Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) Systems is a 12-hour self-defense program for women that offers a realistic approach to self-defense education. This program includes an educational lecture on personal safety and crime prevention, physical skills instruction, dynamic simulation of physical skills, and a lifetime return and practice policy.
We offer the RAD program as a 3-day / 4-hour class session. The first day we go over how to keep yourself safe every day via a PowerPoint presentation. It is very important to be alert and aware everywhere you go. Once the PowerPoint is complete, we move on to basic physical moves. The second day is completely physical and where most of the moves are taught. On the third day we finish teaching all the physical moves and review what has been taught in the previous days. We teach you how to strike, kick, and most importantly how to escape from your attacker. Once everything has been thoroughly reviewed, we go into simulation; in simulation we put you through various scenarios in which you put what you have learned to use.
Although this class has a large physical component which can be somewhat demanding, those with physical limitations can still attend the class. It is important that the instructors be advised of any limitations. Classes are open to women 14 years of age and older. Minors must have a parent/guardian with them in class
The radKIDS Personal Empowerment Safety Education Program is a nationally recognized child safety program designed for children ages 5-12. This life skills curriculum aims to replace fear with knowledge, skill, and empowerment, enabling children to recognize and avoid danger, as well as protect themselves from physical abuse. It stands as a leading educator in realistic and empowering personal safety education for both children and their parents.
The radKIDS Program equips children with hope, options, and practical skills to RECOGNIZE, AVOID, and ESCAPE violence and abuse. By participating in this program, children gain the confidence, skills, and self-esteem necessary to resist aggression defensively. The radKIDS philosophy emphasizes the importance of empowering children with the information and resources required to immediately identify danger and respond effectively to ensure their safety.
The cornerstone of the radKIDS program is its 10-hour family-centered curriculum, which includes both lectures focusing on situational awareness and decision-making skills, and a physical skills component. These physical skills are tailored to enable students to resist abduction and successfully escape dangerous situations.
